The Arraial do Cabo campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) revealed that in 2027 it will be offering 5 spots for the specialization in Environmental Sciences and Coastal Areas.

About the Course

With a total duration of 18 months, the specialization will consist of 360 hours distributed over three semesters. Classes are scheduled to take place, preferably, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The first semester of the course will include subjects such as Social Movements, Environment and Territories, in addition to Legislation, Management and Sustainability, totaling 195 hours and 13 credits. In the second semester, students will study Coastal Oceanography and Coastal Management and Monitoring, completing 165 hours and 11 credits. The Final Course Work II will be carried out in the third semester, which will grant 24 credits upon completion of the specialization.

Requirements and Registration Period

Those interested in participating in the specialization must register between August 10 and September 11, 2026. It is necessary for candidates to have a diploma recognized by the MEC, and the registration fee is R$ 20.
