IFRJ abre vagas para pós-graduação gratuita em Ensino de Ciências

In 2027, the Volta Redonda Campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) will offer 12 spots for a free postgraduate course in Natural Sciences and Mathematics Teaching. Graduates in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Sciences, Physics, and related areas can register.

The course duration will be 18 months, covering three semesters and various subjects. In the first semester, the curriculum will include Methodology of Science Teaching, History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science, as well as Technologies in Mathematics Teaching. The second semester will offer an immersion in Scientific Research Methodology and explore the interaction between Science and the Environment. Finally, in the third semester, students will participate in project seminars under the supervision of teachers.

Classes will take place on Fridays, from 6 PM to 10:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 8 AM to 12:30 PM. There will also be meetings on Saturday afternoons, if necessary, from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The activities will be held on the campus located at Rua Antônio Barreiros and at ICEx – UFF Pólo, both in Volta Redonda.

Registrations

To register, candidates must have a recognized undergraduate degree from MEC. The registration period will be from August 10 to September 11, 2026, with a fee of R$ 20. Interested parties can access the complete announcement and obtain more information on the official IFRJ website.
