The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) informs that 20 places are available for the free specialization course in Occupational Safety Engineering, scheduled to start in 2027. This course is aimed at graduates in the fields of engineering and architecture.
Classes will take place at the São Gonçalo Campus, located at Rua José Augusto Pereira dos Santos, S/N – Neves, São Gonçalo – RJ. Students will have in-person classes up to four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 6 PM to 10:10 PM.
Course Structure
With a total workload of 660 hours, the specialization will be organized into three periods: the first will have 240 hours, the second will have 225 hours, and the third, which will include the Final Graduation Project (TCC), will total 195 hours.
Offered Subjects
The curriculum is composed of 12 subjects, detailed as follows:
- Introduction to Occupational Safety Engineering – 20 hours;
- Prevention and Control of Risks in Machines, Equipment, and Installations – 80 hours;
- Work Hygiene – 140 hours;
- Environmental Protection – 45 hours;
- Fire Protection and Explosions – 60 hours;
- Risk Management – 60 hours;
- Psychology in Safety Engineering, Communication and Training – 15 hours;
- Administration Applied to Safety Engineering – 30 hours;
- Ergonomics – 50 hours;
- Legislation and Technical Standards – 30 hours;
- Legislation and Technical Standards – 20 hours;
- Electives – 50 hours.
