In 2027, the Nilópolis campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) will launch a specialization in Environmental Management, completely free of charge. This course was created for graduates from various fields who wish to deepen their knowledge on environmental issues.
The number of spots is limited to 10, and in-person classes will be held on Thursdays from 6 PM to 10 PM, and on Saturdays, from 7 AM to 12 PM. The subjects that make up the course include Fundamentals of Ecology, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Legislation and Law, among others.

The course, which will be structured over three semesters, offers an extensive workload in the following subjects:
- 1st Semester:

- Environmental Legislation and Law – 30h

- 2nd Semester:
- Management of Solid Waste and Gas Emissions – 30h

- Environmental Management II – 45h
- Research Methodology II – 15h
- Environmental Impact Assessment – 30h
- Risk Assessment – 30h
- Project Seminar I – 15h
- 3rd Semester:
- Project Seminar II – 15h
Enrollment Process
Enrollment for the selection process will take place between August 10 and September 11, 2026. Interested parties can access the corresponding notice and decide whether to enroll with or without the fee, according to their preference.
